This August she competed at the National Canadian CBBF in British Columbia and placed second! Below Sylvia outlines the dedication it takes to compete and a sample diet from her show.
I just got back from the National Canadian CBBF that took place in Vancouver on August 9th, I proudly placed 2nd in this prestigious organization. I was very happy to participate in such a competition and to be able to represent ALLMAX at this event that happens yearly, with the best athletes in fitness and figures in Canada.
Of course, the 1st position would have been a delight, considering that it would have been a great birthday gift for me, and would have earned me a pro-card, but I will have other chances...
I am very happy to be part of the top Fitness athletes in the country, considering that the average age for this sport is in the 20's! I am the living proof that anything is possible when you put your heart into it: With a healthy lifestyle, and adequate nutrition and supplementation, our body can reach unsuspected limits.
Last time I participated in this competition, it was in 1998, I placed 5th in my category. It was my first time competing at the National level…. but I then rocketed myself in the Fitness America adventures where I was determined to win this prestigious title. Only after taking the podium for the Fitness America Pageant in 1999, 2001 and 2002 were my efforts finally rewarded by the title I was dreaming of. Not only did I win the title of Fitness America Pageant, but I was also the first non-American to win!
CHANGE OF DIRECTION
In 2008 I created new goals for myself and decided to compete with NPC and CBBF. These federations are prestigious and differently structured as far as selection criteria are concerned and that pushed my motivation to the limit to reach higher grounds and win my IFBB pro-card.
